Land Rover Discovery ARB Portable Refridgerator

     So you think you have the most fully equipped Land Rover out there? Well leave it to the engineers at ARB to develop a product that you must have to have if you want to maintain your reputation as having "the best equipped Rover." The ARB Portable Refrigerator now makes it easy to keep food and drinks cool, even on the longest trips, eliminates the need to empty water out of a cooler and having to stop to pick up ice at a convenience store.

     These refrigerators have grown in popularity, especially in Australia, where there are not many places to stop for drinks and food on long trips and where there may not be any sort of civilization for hundreds of miles. ARB's refrigerator runs quietly and is an efficient unit. Even when it is turned off, it will keep its contents cool for several hours.

     The unit is about the size of a cooler, and our model (MT40E-AL) holds 41 quarts. The amazing part of this unit is its versatility in that it will run off both 120V AC current and 12V or 24V DC current from your Rover's cigarette lighter. It includes two adapters and connections, for AC and DC. The refrigerator fits in the rear compartment of the Discovery, and still leaves room for other gear to be stowed away. With the back seats folded up or removed, there is plenty of remaining cargo space that can be used for those times when you have lots of gear and equipment you need to carry.

     The ARB Fridge uses a thermostat control knob to regulate the internal temperature of the contents. Position "1" being refrigeration to "5," being the freezer setting. The refrigerator is extremely easy to maintain, really only needing a good wipe down every now and again to keep the inside clean and odor free.

     We just took the fridge on a 400 mile trip, and can't say enough aboutit. It kept the food and drinks cold didn't take up too much space and didn't make a sound. This thing is great!
